Why Does A Chiropractor Focus So Much On Muscles???

Because Chiropractor’s think about them all the time, and you think about them only when they hurt!

Healthy muscle tissue does not hurt to touch...

while damaged muscle tissue is tender and painful to touch. A healthy muscle will contract when it needs to, but then returns to its normal length and shape after contraction. An unhealthy muscle will contract when it needs to but will NOT return to its normal shape and length afterward. IT will remain fixed in a shortened position resulting in decreased blood flow, lymph drainage and range of motion. This condition causes PAIN.

At Muscle Works we provide therapies to treat damaged and fatigued muscle tissue so that they may heal more quickly and more completely. One of the primary therapies is Deep Tissue Therapy. This helps to break muscle tissue down quickly, prevent less scarring, and restore normal form and function, and best of all, decrease pain.

What we understand at Muscle Works, that so many other Chiropractors don't seem to, is that the root of all your pain is the condition of your muscles! By focusing on RESETTING your muscles to their natural healthy state pain is relieved in fewer visits and bones are put back into alignment FASTER.

Understanding is the key to your health and getting help...

Muscle Works considers primarily the skeletal muscles for form and function. Skeletal muscle comes in two types, Phasic and Postural. Phasic muscles are fast twitch muscles. They produce rapid contractions to produce movement. They tire easily and accumulate lactic acid rapidly. When phasic muscles are damaged in any degree, they tend to WEAKEN.

Postural muscles are slow twitch muscles. They produce sustained contractions, where only portions of the muscle are contracting at any one time, thereby giving a major portion of the muscle a rest. Postural muscles provide the ability to maintain an upright and correct posture. They do not tire easily, nor do they produce any appreciable amount of lactic acid. When postural muscle is damaged in any degree, they tend to SHORTEN.
